Silver is Slightly up Silver prices rose by 0.75% to Rs 46,119 per kg in futures trade today largely in tune with a firming trend in precious metals overseas amid covering-up of short positions by speculators. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, the July contract traded higher by Rs 342, or 0.75%, to Rs 46,119 per kg in business turnover of 636 lots. Gold is on one week high value   Spot gold had risen $1.15 an ounce to $1,463.65 by 0025 GMT, having posted its biggest weekly gain in three months last week. Gold plunged to around $1,321 on April 16, its lowest in more than two years, in a sell-off that surprised ardent gold investors and bulls. U.S. gold for June delivery stood at $1,463.20 an ounce, up $9.60.

Live Stock Market Updates Snapping a four-day gaining streak, the BSE benchmark Sensex declined by 51 points in early trade on Friday as funds and retail investors booked profits after recent rally amid a mixed trend in the Asian region. The 30-share barometer declined by 51.21 points, or 0.26 percent, to 19,355.64, led by the weakness in bank, auto and capital goods stocks. Stock Market Review Finally, the BSE Sensex surged 227.49 points or 1.19% to settle at 19406.85, while the CNX Nifty climbed by 79.40 points or 1.36% to end at 5,916.30. Gold are on upside Gold climbed to its highest in more than a week on Thursday, boosted by prospects of more central bank buying after a recent steep sell-off in the precious metal, while a firmer euro also underpinned prices. Central bank purchases and surging physical demand helped gold bounce from a two-year trough around $1,321 an ounce hit  ast week, dealers said. But daily outflows from exchange-traded funds, reflecting sagging investor confidence, capped gains. Russia and Turkey raised their gold reserves in March, the International Monetary Fund said on Wednesday, increasing their holdings ahead of the spectacular plunge in prices this month that shocked ardent gold investors and bulls. Gold Prices Slightly on Downside

Live Gold Trend Gold futures prices on Tuesday extended losses in early trade on sustained offloading by speculators after it dipped to over two-year low overseas. Gold prices, which had been plummeting since last week, fell by another Rs 364, or 1.41 percent, to trade at a 19-month low ( lowest level since Sept 2011) of Rs 25,270 per 10 grams for delivery in June at the Multi Commodity Exchange ( MCX).  Spot gold fell as low as USD1,321.35 an ounce and stood at USD 1,341.94, down USD10.81 per ounce while silver shed nearly 2 percent to USD 22.11 per ounce.  GOLD- Rs 25,810, SILVER- Rs 46,150  GOLD- Rs 27,600 / SILVER- Rs 48,000  However, Indian investors need not be worried about a steep fall in prices. The 1980 crash in gold was not felt in India because the appreciation of the dollar against the rupee buoyed the domestic prices.
